Support for Individuals

Daily Living Skills
NPOC staff assist the people they serve to develop the skills to become active members of their community. The specific habilitation and support is identified in the person’s Individual Support Plan, which is developed through team process.
Around the Clock Care
Continuous 24-hour residential services are available for individuals who require staff to be available to meet the individual’s needs for all or most of the time. Residents are provided habilitation and assisted with all person-centered activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, food preparation, specific dietary needs, physical therapy as directed by doctors or specialists, clothing care, room maintenance and other housekeeping skills in a family-oriented setting.
Residential Living
At this time, the agency is providing 24-hour services in seven group homes. This includes two agency-owned large group homes (4 to 10 residents) and five small group homes (2 to 3 residents). Continuous residential services can be provided in other homes as the need arises and individuals choose to share a house or apartment with at least two other individuals.
Transportation
Individuals receiving continuous residential services are also provided with transportation within the community for shopping, recreational, and medical activities. Staff support individuals to attend and take part in social and recreational activities that are available to the general public, including Nebraskaland Day activities, concerts, movies, churches, and civic events. Events include monster truck shows in Grand Island, Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, hockey in Kearney, and the Nebraska State Fair.
Health Care
NPOC is proud to keep quality care at the forefront. Transportation is provided for individuals, as well as support in scheduling and attendance to the appointments. Licensed med aides are provided to also administer prescribed and over-the-counter medications to those served.
Shopping/Grocery
Residents are provided with access to their daily shopping needs within the community. Residents can also utilize the larger towns/cities for shopping that isn’t available within their own community.
